“The goal of the Defend the Guard Act, a project of www.BringOurTroopsHome.US is to have states reassert their 10th Amendment rights and to provide a Constitutionally necessary check on the Federal Government’s use of military force as a primary tool of U.S. foreign policy. The States have a fundamental, Constitutional obligation to demand that the Federal Government adhere to the rules as mandated in Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution. Unless Congress does its duty by approving an official Declaration of War, the States are within their Constitutional rights to withhold troops. The sole objective of the Defend the Guard Act is to insist that the Federal Government abide by the Constitution before sending the sons and daughters of American families to combat in endless foreign wars.”
