On Monday, July 19, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., Councilwomen Aniece Germain and Nirva LaFortune, in collaboration with the Hope and Change for Haiti- HnC, the Haitian American Partnership for Positive Action HAPPA-RI, along with the support of the City of Cranston, will hold a Peace Memorial Vigil to honor the life of President Jovenel Moïse who has been heinously assassinated on July 7, 2021, at his private residence in Haiti, and the many lives lost by ongoing violence and civil unrest.

“It is critical that we, as a community, need to come together in support of our fellows who are mourning the loss of so many lives. In this time of darkness and struggles, we must recommit ourselves to condemn this barbaric assassination of the president and to seek justice and reconciliation” said, Cranston Councilwoman Aniece Germain.

This event’s purpose is to send a message of solidarity to the Haitian people and gather peacefully to remember the President of Haiti, including all the victims of violence.
