On Monday January 25, Massachusetts residents will join our brothers and sisters in 17 countries around the world to lend our voices to the world’s cry for an end to the war on Yemen. We will demand that U.S. military contractors stop providing Saudi Arabia with bombs and other sophisticated machines of death that are wreaking havoc on Yemen’s people, helping to create the world’s greatest humanitarian crisis. We will call on President Biden to follow through on his promise to end our government’s military and diplomatic support for the war that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has brought to Yemen. Bombing and blockade have caused widespread hunger, death from the sky, and the destruction of infrastructure that has fostered the spread of COVID and a cholera epidemic. And now new sanctions on the country’s nationalist movement could very well lead to the great famine that international humanitarian agencies have been dreading. We say enough: Stop the weapons! Stop the collaboration of so many western countries in this war.
