#RiseUp‌ ‌to‌ ‌#FreeThemAll:‌ ‌
A‌ ‌Car‌ ‌Rally‌ ‌in‌ ‌Solidarity‌ ‌with‌ ‌People‌ ‌Caged‌ ‌in‌ ‌Bristol‌ ‌County‌ ‌

Since‌ ‌the‌ ‌start‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌pandemic,‌ ‌over‌ ‌3,000‌ ‌people‌ ‌have‌ ‌died‌ ‌in‌ ‌US‌ ‌prisons‌ ‌and‌ ‌jails.‌ ‌Infection‌ ‌rates‌ ‌continue‌ ‌to‌ ‌soar.‌ ‌Yet,‌ ‌elected‌ ‌officials‌ ‌refuse‌ ‌to‌ ‌implement‌ ‌the‌ ‌only‌ ‌measure‌ ‌that‌ ‌will‌ ‌save‌ ‌lives‌ ‌—‌ ‌decarceration.‌ ‌Therefore:‌ ‌from‌ ‌Memorial‌ ‌Day‌ ‌through‌ ‌June‌ ‌1st,‌ ‌over‌ ‌50‌ ‌front-line‌ ‌organizations‌ ‌across‌ ‌the‌ ‌country‌ ‌are‌ ‌launching‌ ‌a‌ ‌National‌ ‌Week‌ ‌of‌ ‌Action‌ ‌to‌ ‌#FreeThemALL.‌ ‌

‌This‌ ‌Thursday,‌ ‌in‌ ‌solidarity‌ ‌with‌ ‌this‌ ‌nation-wide‌ ‌effort,‌ ‌a‌ ‌coalition‌ ‌of‌ ‌justice‌ ‌organizations‌ ‌from‌ ‌the‌ ‌states‌ ‌of‌ ‌CT,‌ ‌MA,‌ ‌and‌ ‌RI,‌ ‌along‌ ‌with‌ ‌families‌ ‌of‌ ‌those‌ ‌incarcerated,‌ ‌will‌ ‌hold‌ ‌a‌ ‌caravan‌ ‌demonstration‌ ‌to‌ ‌demand‌ ‌freedom,‌ ‌safety,‌ ‌and‌ ‌justice‌ ‌for‌ everyone‌ ‌currently‌ ‌caged‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌Bristol‌ ‌County‌ ‌House‌ ‌of‌ ‌Corrections.‌ ‌
 ‌

correctional‌ ‌officers‌ ‌and‌ ‌Sheriff‌ ‌Thomas‌ ‌Hodgson.‌ ‌In‌ ‌response‌ ‌to‌ ‌a‌ ‌case‌ ‌brought‌ ‌on‌ ‌behalf‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌immigrants‌ ‌trapped‌ ‌in‌ ‌ICE‌ ‌detention‌ ‌at‌ ‌Bristol,‌ ‌U.S.‌ ‌District‌ ‌Court‌ ‌Judge‌ ‌William‌ ‌Young‌ ‌found‌ both‌ ‌the‌ ‌sheriff‌ ‌and‌ ‌ICE‌ ‌have‌ ‌deliberately‌ ‌disregarded‌ ‌the‌ ‌health‌ ‌of‌ ‌detainees‌ ‌in‌ ‌their‌ ‌care‌ ‌amid‌ ‌the‌ ‌COVID-19‌ ‌pandemic.‌ ‌No‌ ‌one‌ ‌responsible‌ ‌for‌ ‌these‌ ‌attacks‌ ‌on‌ ‌our‌ ‌community‌ ‌members‌ ‌has‌ ‌yet‌ ‌been‌ ‌brought‌ ‌to‌ ‌justice.‌ ‌
