Pawtucket Schools Chief Financial Officer Melissa Devine is rumored to have tendered her resignation, with 30 Days Notice!
The highly sought after, talented Devine, admired widely in School & Municipal Finance circles, was seen as a stabilizing force for a Pawtucket School Department that is under the 3rd Superintendent/Interim Superintendent within the last year.
Starting her School Financial Career at the Johnston Public Schools System, Devine rose to her current position in 2013.
Speculation about her resignation revolves around ongoing budget battles between the Administration of Mayor Donald Grebien and The Pawtucket City Council’s demands from the School Department’s Capital Fund for budget support.
