Handshake Initiative RI: Vartan Gregorian Elementary

Good day,
In 2025 we shall continue our journey to reach every student in RI, one handshake or high five at a time! Col. Anthony Roberson’s Handshake Initiative RI is a non-partisan, all school involved community program. We welcome all faculty, parents, professionals, community leaders/ members by invite only. Please feel free to invite colleagues and community members to join us!
The address for Vartan Gregorian Elementary is 455 Wickenden St. The best location for parking is either street parking (Wickenden St or East St) or in the back of the school building (drive down East St. to access the back parking lot). I would encourage all participants to arrive at the school between 8:35-8:45 AM as we will need all visitors to sign into the building. Our arrival time is from 8:50- 9:05 AM.
Students enter the building from two locations: The front door (walkers) and the East St. doors (bus students). All students walk down the hallways to enter the cafeteria or gymnasium. My suggestion would be to have participants line up in the hallway and greet students closer to the cafeteria entrance.
